Did you know parents have to fill out a part of the financial aid application too?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) have a section that’s just for parents. Parents must fill out information on FAFSA or CADAA until their student is 24 years old or meets specific requirements.
Unless the student is 24 years old, married, has a child, is in the military, is in grad school, is orphaned (both birth parents deceased), was in foster care, was legally emancipated by a court, or was placed in legal guardianship by a court, they will have to provide parent information for the financial aid application.
